I was seeing a woman who administered discipline for several years. She had to stop over-the-knee spanking because of a knee injury. It seems the weight of the spankee would irritate her knee so badly, that it was becoming a real problem for her. I always thought that a chair that supported the weight of the recipients legs and torso might have been a good solution for her. The appliance in this illustration, although being used for an altogether different purpose is a good example of what I had in mind.

Very interesting form of correction shown here though!

This small Spanking Horse, (Spanking Pony?) Is interesting for a number of reasons. It could be used as an ottoman for a black leather chair without arousing suspicions. Its low height also offers advantages, as you can position the spankee so their bottom is directly over the top of the bench. In a smaller room that would permit the disciplinarian to swing straight down rather than from the side, where a lamp or a table might present a problem. I think this would be ideal for some serious strappings!

I must admit, I have always found steel spanking benches to be a bit austere. They just lack the personality of wooden benches. That said, this is a very business-like device. The unusually angled, two section upper deck looks to be comfortable to the spankee. I just wonder how well it positions their bottom for punishment? The welded strap loops are a very nice feature though. Located in all the correct places.

Well, this is a veritable playground of possibilities. A whipping cross, a bed with a neck/wrist yoke, a cage, along with a variety of suspension points and padding. It could also double as a handy guest bed when the in-laws come to visit!

This is an interesting apparatus. Secured at the ankles and neck, all sorts of intriguing possibilities are presented to the disciplinarian in charge here.

This spartan, folding horse has an almost Scandinavian utility about it. Simple, yet functional. Perhaps IKEA should consider adding it their catalog. They could market it as "The Spankkir!"

A more modern variant of the vaulting horse. It looks like the designer has cleverly incorporated drawers for the storage of goodies! The upper slots in the sides appear to be used for restraints.

I believe this is a stacked, vaulting horse. Solid. Heavy. And I bet the young lady would like to vault over it every time that cane lands on her bottom!

This looks like a effective, no-nonsense caning bench. Notice the height, and how it allows the cane to land in a horizontal stroke. Nice straight welts.

A solid whipping post! Nicely done securing eyes. I hope that bad-boy is bolted to the floor.

I like the arched legs of this piece. The forward sloping upper-body section should provide a very bottom-up, bottom-out positioning. Minus points for the ugly screw-eyes. Perhaps a trip to Restoration Hardware for some cool-looking, bronze door hooks?

Victorian, Steampunk whipping bench. It has a beautiful organic flow. Almost like it was grown in a garden rather than carved or cast! I love the positioning of the mirror. It allows the penitent to witness their own correction.

It would hard to imagine a fixture that leaves you any more vulnerable and exposed than this "Head Bench." The bottom and thighs are stretch taut, and the very sensitive sit-spot is perfectly positioned for lots of serious attention. (I just hope that no one winds up with a broken neck.)

The Three-in-One Cross. Ingenious design that can position the recipient in any number of positions.  One aspect that I like is that in all of the possible configurations, there is nothing that extends out any wider than the recipients hips. Nothing to interfere with, and possibly damage, a wrapping cane. I wonder if it folds up to store discreetly under Mommy and Daddy's bed?

Someone obviously spent time at the hardware store. This utilitarian bench does not score many points for elegance, however I'm certain it serves its purpose. I do worry about all those exposed carriage bolts sticking out. Seems a bit dangerous if someone is flailing. (Unless you're into "impaling." )

It seems this community bench saw double duty as a fixture to position the miscreant as punishment was applied. The low position could not have been ideal for the person carrying out the sentence.

Perhaps a device like this Le chavel de Berkley, led to the origin of the name "Spanking Horse." It is clearly modeled after a real horse. Although it's interesting to note that it will be the "rider" rather than the horse who will soon be bucking.
